Description

Di ritorno dalla Tete Blanche, risaliamo da quota 2500m circa il pendio canale sotto la barra rocciosa. Si sbuca ad un colletto (paletto) e da qui ultimo pendio finale, a tratti ripido, ma su buona traccia. Discesa (ore 12.40) ad anello (verso Est): firn spaziale dalla cima fino a 2100m. Neve portante dura nel bosco dove al momento ci sono solo due brevi punti senza neve. Passati sotto le famose cascate (cotte o crollate), traversato ancora un tratto prima di ‘saltellare’ giù nel bosco arrivando sci ai piedi alla macchina.

Description

Salito e sceso sci dall’auto dal vallone della Gaula, ovvero dal sentiero a dx rispetto alla fraz Glassier (direzione bivacco Regondi) fino a circa 2050 m. In salita nel bosco a tratti è fastidiosa la traccia tobogosa di discesa lungo la mulattiera dove questa è obbligata ma si sale tutto sommato con minimo ravano, molto più agevole poi la discesa. Proseguito quindi verso il Filon dai pendii Sud sud-est,dai quali sono poi anche sceso (seconda opzione in descrizione itinerario). Dalla vetta: prima pala ripida di 200 m neve super, cremina. A scendere alternanza di tratti portanti ad altri cedevoli/sfondosi, non trasformata completamente. Dai 2800 in giù sciata leggera per non sfondare,poi perdendo quota sempre più portante e tranquilla, anche se in zona l’ultima nevicata non è stata completamente sistemata fino a circa 2.100 m. Mi aspettavo che il sole di fine marzo su una expo full sud avesse ben sistemato in un giorno o poco più di sole l’ultima neve ma evidentemente serve ancora una bella scaldata, è ok solo il ripido. Il pendio classico sud ovest da sopra mi è parso ancora più indietro. Bella gita comunque.

Reaching the start

From the Aosta East tollbooth, take the tunnel along the E27 road leading into the Great St. Bernard Valley, at the end of which you meet the SS27 coming from the center of Aosta. Just before Gignod, immediately after the last tunnel, proceed to the right following the Valpelline SR28, reaching the main town. Continue in the direction of Bionaz and as soon as you leave the village, on the left is the junction for Ollomont, which you reach after 5 km. Continue further along the road, which ends after 3 km in the locality of Glassier (or Glacier) in the large asphalt parking lot just before the houses.

The route

From the large parking area at Glassier, go back a few dozen meters until you meet the marker posts for trail No. 5, which begins to gain elevation along a series of dry stone walls beside a meadow. Quickly you reach Alpe Pont 1681 m where you pass below a water pipe resuming climbing along the mule track that enters a sparse band of larches. Because of the sunny exposure this section may be snowless. Past an area with rocky slabs with a series of protective fences, you reach the short slope before the By huts with the small chapel 1994 m. You pass by the side of the Farinet House continuing northward over an easy hump preceding the Alpe Commune de By 2049 m.Bending slightly to the right, in the direction of the long Arete de la Bonne Mort, you enter vast Comba de la Grande Maison (for a stretch you will follow the route of summer trail 4 directed to the Chiarella Refuge).Reaching the furrow of the Grande Maison stream, before reaching the Tsa de la Commune alpine pastures, at an altitude of about 2200 m you deviate decisively to the right (east) staying in the center of the depression you follow a long diagonal that skirts the Arete de la Bonne Mort from below, walking along the slope that remains in shade until late morning.At the end of the slope, the gradient increases and by deviating to the right you can access the Tete du Filon ascent ridge, taking advantage of a saddle that is the only access point at about 3070 m. Up the steep south ridge, you follow it on steadily steep slopes to the top 3306 m.Descent:You can retrace the same route followed uphill, for the southwest slopes, or along the south side for rather steep slopes. You skirt the Pointe de la Bonne Mort and then descend the slopes below the Mont de la Balme, reaching the Plan du Filon. Leaving the Filon alpine pasture on the left and from this descending to the Gaula Valley, without returning to By.

Description

Calcolare portage fino a sbucare nella comba, circa 45/50 minuti, poi innevamento continuo. Il pendio che costeggia l’arête du Filon è infinito, a due terzi circa abbiamo trovato una vecchia traccia molto comoda. Dal colletto abbiamo dovuto mettere i coltelli fino in punta, mentre sotto non è stato necessario. Purtroppo le consistenti velature e l’arietta che tirava non hanno fatto mollare la neve, altrimenti sarebbe stata una meravigliosa tavola da biliardo di neve trasformata. Abbiamo temporeggiato fino a dopo mezzogiorno in punta, ma la situazione non cambiava. È stata lo stesso una bella sciata ma le vertebre vibravano…

Description

Dal park si pesta subito neve, ma fino a sbucare nella conca, la neve è troppo poca per pensare di sciare con la modalità Kamikaze Off! Dal pianoro l’innevamento è molto buono e, stranamente, nessuna traccia (ne ciaspole ne sci). A voler essere onesti, il vento ha creato qualche zona più densa o crostosa, ma il tutto era molto ben sciabile e godibile.

Description

Grazie a Brusa per il suggerimento. Seguito sua bella traccia fino al colletto, poi era tutta svalangata e ho proseguito sull’ altro versante. Fermato a circa 100 metri dalla cima, per il caldo e una gonfia da attraversare che non mi ispirava. Iniziato la discesa alle 12 su ottima neve, più tardi ho paura che la neve diventi sfondosa. Grande sciata fino alla stalla, poi passeggiata fino a Glassier. Visto solo un altro skialp che mi ha raggiunto dove mi sono fermato e ha proseguito per la cima.

Description

400 m di D+ iniziali senza neve. In salita sono passato dal bosco delle cascate, ma anche qui non c’è neve a suff per sciare. Arrivando a quota 2000 m ho trovato neve portante con 1 cm di fresca. Zero sastrugi e pendii immacolati liscissimi privi di tracce di passaggio. Ad un certo punto ho messo i rampant…poi è scoppiato il caldo e ho fatto la sauna per riuscire ad arrivare in cima. Discesa su tavolo da biliardo. Scendendo ho poi raggiunto tre giovani francofoni che, essendo partiti tardi, hanno rinunciato a 3/4. Loro sotto i 2000 m sono scesi in scarpe da ginnastica, ma bisogna considerare che il sentiero ha ancora molti tratti innevati/ghiacciati.
