The Crête de Corléans consists of a long rocky cordillera that joins Testa di Serena to Punta Valletta.
This rocky offshoot is interspersed with several narrow gullies from which steep couloirs descend that are only usable by experts in steep skiing.
Of the three gullies, the middle one, although challenging, is still practicable with a difficulty classifiable as OS (excellent skiers) in the second part.

La valutazione corretta sarebbe 2,5 visto che la parte del canalino e pendio sottostante è molto bella , ma da lì in giù tutta crostaaaa! Solo altri due skialp su questo itinerario oggi.. molto frequentati invece il canale centrale e quello delle Sirene

In basso nel bosco neve stupenda e zero vento, poi una volta usciti vento discretamente forte e persistente oltre che davvero fastidioso, che ci ha da subito fatto capire che avrebbe rovinato la neve per la discesa 🤦🏻. Una volta imboccato il canale una scialpinista, scendendolo, ha innescato una piccola valanga, come era plausibile che succedesse, visto la neve riportata dal vento persistente. Nessuna conseguenza. Con Stefano, visto che quello che doveva scaricare ha scaricato, decidiamo di continuare e saliamo in vetta. Qualità della neve in discesa compromessa dal vento.

Overview
This rocky offshoot is interspersed with several narrow gullies from which steep couloirs descend that are only usable by experts in steep skiing.
Of the three gullies, the middle one, although challenging, is still practicable with a difficulty classifiable as OS (excellent skiers) in the second part.
The ascent route develops in the initial part of the Vallon de Sereina until the cottages of the Arp du Bois dessous, then continues with the approach to the imposing rocky chain until it meets on a terrace that offers a splendid view of the final gully.
The ascent of the gully is the most challenging part of the route in an area prone to snow dumping.
Reaching the fork, the views open up and, with a short ascent you reach the highest summit of the ridge 2806 m.
From the summit, the panoramic views to the west are appreciable where the Grande Rochère partially hides the majestic Italian side of Mont Blanc and the bristling summit of Punta Walker.
On the northeast side, panoramic views of the Crévacol area and the imposing southern slope of Mont Velan are appreciable.
Given the overall difficulty of the itinerary, the descent is challenging.
Due to the steepness of the slopes, it is advisable to be accompanied by a mountain guide.
Reaching the start
Leave the road that climbs to the Great St. Bernard Pass on the right and continue on the E27 highway until you meet, on the right, the exit for the Crevacol ski resort.
Continue for about 500 m until you reach the station's large parking lot on its westernmost side.
The route
Crossing the Belle Combe stream, you quickly reach the hamlets of Farettes and Ponty, and then, skirting the wooded prominences, you meet the Eteley pasture.
Walk to the left keeping to the edge of the forest as the slope increases significantly.
Rescend the bare slope, cut several times by the farm road, until you reach the cottages of Arp du Bois dessous 1950 m.
Keep the cottages to the right and continue for a short, almost flat stretch and then veer left at the edge of the sparse forest. Take the ascent of the "Cresta" slope proceeding on a fair slope until an altitude of 2200 m where it loses some slope.
After the short shelf continue again on a discrete slope heading towards the rugged northwest face of Punta Valletta.
Go over a hump to reach another ledge that precedes the final steep gully, at the end of which you come out on the fork at an altitude of 2730 m.
From the narrow cove, turn right to overcome the drop of about 80 meters until you reach the summit of the Crête de Corléans, which, depending on the condition of the snowpack and the cornices, can be reached on skis or simply on foot.
Descent:
The descent is compulsorily on the ascent tracks until the first shelf, after which there are a few options ranging from following the ascent route or taking the middle part of the Vallon de Sereina and then proceeding with the classic descent, without any particular route obligations, until the parking lot.

Ieri leggiamo una recensione 5 stelle di un canavesano: entusiasmo alle stelle, roba da pensarci “domani andiamo a farci la gita della vita”. Così stamattina partiamo da Crevacol belli carichi, con lo spirito dell’eroe e l’ingenuità del pollo allo spiedo. Nel bosco tutto da manuale: niente vento, temperatura perfetta, neve bella… insomma, eravamo già pronti a scrivere la recensione prima ancora di arrivare in vetta. Poi… esci dal bosco e vieni accolto da un vento degno di un asciugatore industriale. Raffiche che ti mettono in piega i capelli anche sotto il casco, microdermoabrasione facciale gratuita, e ogni passo avanti era un patto col destino. Proseguiamo nel canale e la situazione passa da “brutto vento” a “vento cattivo” fino a “vento con rancore personale”. Nel frattempo la neve decide di fare coming out in tutte le sue versioni: farina compatta, farina vera, farina che vorrebbe essere crosta, crosta che vorrebbe essere farina… un vero caos identitario. A 30 metri dalla cima, con accumuli che si staccavano sia al nostro passaggio sia solo guardandoli male, scegliamo la via della saggezza: girare i tacchi e scendere. Che poi, onestamente, era l’unica opzione per evitare di partecipare al referendum “Valanga sì / Valanga no”. Neve in alto: 3 stelle per impegno, ma non convince la giuria. Neve nel bosco: bella, divertente, peccato ancora un po’ poca… diciamo che era un “scia ma prega” continuo per evitare le pietre. Conclusione: gita epica, vento ostile, cima mancata, ma storia da raccontare con orgoglio. Voto finale: 3 stelle, ma col sorriso stampato.

2^ uscita 2025 del Sognatore Canavesano (feat. Ravana Ski Club) Menzione speciale a Roy. Compagno di mille avventure che, dopo due anni di oblio, ha deciso finalmente di tornare a sciare e soprattutto di non restare nel letto, perché diciamolo: dopo due anni di letargo, il vero miracolo è stato vederlo verticale di sabato, prima delle 11 del mattino. Menzione speciale al Terzo Tempo Dove, dopo aver atteso panini per un tempo abbastanza lungo da poter avviare una mezza fermentazione delle idee, la conversazione è deragliata senza freni: dal problema eterno della stitichezza del montanaro, fino alla poesia intramontabile del quanto sia bello cagare bene. Una chiusura degna di un trattato filosofico… alla canavesana.

Incredibilmente canale centrale ancora vergine! Abbiamo sfruttato inizialmente la traccia che andava verso i canali di sinistra e abbiamo tracciato l’ultimo pezzo, discesa da sballo in polvere freddissima da cima a fondo, mai toccato pietre, ottimo inizio di stagione!

Ottime condizioni. Il canale finale è ottimamente innevato. Si scende bene su neve farinosa compatta, come la parte alta dell’itinerario, dove si fanno belle curve. Anche la parte intermedia nel bosco è bella. Neve leggermente più pesante ma sempre ben sciabile. Parte bassa come sciare in pista. Innevamento molto molto buono.

Sono salito su traccia fresca fino a metà pendio poi ho ripassato quella dei giorni scorsi un po’ coperta ma comunque utilissima. Arrivato al colle ,ho proseguito su neve già cotta dal sole fino in vetta. Discesa spettacolare e praticamente diretta fino alla pista delle auto su neve ottima .

l’itinerario è molto bello e da tempo è diventato una classica. Bellissimo tempo. Discesa dalla vetta alla forcella su neve cotta. Poi nel canale sommitale neve difficile perchè molto solcata. Dall’uscita del canale neve stupenda polverosa (un pò pesante). Nel bosco sopravvivenza. Noi siamo usciti tutto a dx orografica, in pratica atterrando sopra la pista ghiacciata per automobili.

In salita si sale bene; in cima un po scivolosa, utili i coltelli o ramponi. Dalla punta al colletto brutta, parte alta mediocre 2/3 stelle per molte tracce, parte mediana molto bella e lunga,con ogni tanto una lieve crosticina che nn disturba troppo(4 stelle), il bosco sulla dx orografica orrenda 1 stella.

Dopo costa serena ci dirigiamo nel versante opposto seguendo le tracce già presenti e raggiungiamo il colle sulla cresta di Corléans. Primi 20 metri di canale tracciato poi tutta la discesa è intonsa su ottima farina pressata puntando lievemente verso destra a fine canale, quando tutti sono stati sulla crosta ghiacciata dal vento nella traccia di salita… bene così! Sfruttando tutto il pendio non si rientra per la traccia di salita, si punta a una evidente e larga breccia tra gli alberi e si scende il breve pendio con alberi sradicati da una valanga (38-40°), oggi un po’ vetrato. In questo modo si arriva proprio sopra la pista su ghiaccio per le auto, a due passi dalla macchina.
