Description
Partiti dal parcheggio, 10-15 minuti ed è visibile neve non troppo continuativa ma fattibile senza togliere gli sci senza sporcare troppo le pelli. 100 metri più su neve continua perfettamente trasformata da rigelo. Discesa alle 11:30 con neve che aveva già mollato, ci hanno anticipato un gruppo di tre persone che già alle 10 hanno trovato neve morbida ne tratti più illuminati.

Discesa divertentissima. In gita con doppia attrezzatura Splitboard hardboot grazie al buon Federico, e Claudia, unica vera ski alper del gruppo. Compagnia 5 stelle.

The northern exposure makes the slope usable for the entire season and often guarantees optimal snowpack conditions.
The route runs along the entire Vallon de Sereina surrounded by the two coasts, Orléans and Sereina, which overshadow the ascent route in December and January.
The descent takes place on the same slope with varying gradients but without obligatory passages that make it very pleasant.
In view of the not excessive difficulty this route is a good test for those wishing to approach this activity, consequently it is discreetly.
From the pass, panoramic views of Crévacol and the imposing southern slope of Mont Velan are appreciable, on the other side beautiful views of the Graian Alps from Ruitor to Berrio Blanc.
Reaching the start
Leave the road that climbs to the Great St. Bernard Pass on the right and continue on the E27 highway until you meet, on the right, the exit for the Crevacol ski resort.
Continue for about 500 m until you reach the station's large parking lot on its westernmost side.
The route
Crossing the Belle Combe stream, you quickly reach the hamlets of Farettes and Ponty, and then, skirting the wooded prominences, you meet the Eteley pasture.
Walk to the left keeping to the edge of the forest as the slope increases significantly.
Rescend the bare slope, cut several times by the farm road, until you reach the cottages of Arp du Bois dessous 1950 m.
Keep to the right of the cottages and continue for a short, almost flat section and then pick up the slope again, keeping the direction of travel unchanged.
Go over a new drop beyond which the pass is first glimpsed.
Continue for a stretch with moderate gradient.
From here on, there is a series of bumps that anticipate the final section of the gorge.
Tackle the first of the bumps by going right at first and then veering left with a diagonal and keeping this side also in overcoming the next bumps.
Over the last one you enter the final part of the gorge, with the pass now in sight.
Keep still to the left to lead, with a few turns, to the right in the final section of the ascent to the col.
The pass is often lashed by the wind therefore it is possible to find a ledge to cross and, often, the pass is cleared of snow in the sections most exposed to the winds.
Descent:
The descent is on the uphill tracks with no particular route obligations until the parking lot.
From the pass up to the bumps it is convenient to keep to the right in the initial section and then enjoy the skiing on the bumps.
At the end of the bumps it is preferable to keep to the left until the cottages of Arp du Bois, looking for the best slopes.
The last section depending on the condition of the snowpack can also be done with some passes through the woods.
Finally, the final section presenting no slope should be pushed until the parking lot.

Nonostante il vento della settimana qui me o danni anzi in alto Eolo ha creato una superficie portante con una crespatura farino sciabile (sciata veloce e socira) poi da meta’ in giu’ bosco ancora farinoso (stando nel bosco). In zona pareti belle gonfie, da valutare bene e stare sul sicuro.

decisamente già tritata, salendo aumenta sempre più la fresca scesa ultimamente, in cima circa 40/45 di farina, al bosco ho traversato a dx entrando nel canale rimasto più in ombra,e quasi intonso, si perde una stella nella parte bassa.

L’idea iniziale era di dare un’occhiata al canale delle Sirene prima che ne scendesse troppa, il problema è che per dare un’occhiata il canale devi pure vedere dove stia… e arrivati alla fine degli alberi abbiamo provato ad andare avanti ma il whiteout era proprio totale, con pure il vento a dare fastidio. Quindi beh, sciata classica inizialmente senza nemmeno sapere dove fossimo, poi con gli alberi tutto va meglio! Impossibile curvare nelle zone piatte con la neve fresca che era già caduta 😀 Sciata quindi nel complesso molto divertente seppur breve.

Partiti presto per rientrare presto ed evitare le ore più calde, che tanto le temperature sono primaverili quindi ci si adatta… Saliti su traccia ghiacciata, poi ribattuta in alto dove il vento l’aveva coperta. Presente qualche valanga, di cui una ampia, sui versanti esposti al sole. La salita al Colle però non presenta pericoli oggettivi. Discesa su farina ventata ma ben sciabile in alto, ancora in ombra, probabilmente in peggioramento dopo la giornata di oggi. In basso invece crosta terribile.

Niente da osservare. Bella gita neve abbondante su tutto l’itinerario. Eravamo partiti per fare la Cresta Centrale di Serena ma i pendi carichi ed il grado 3 marcato ci hanno consigliato di proseguire per un più tranquillo e sempre bello Col Serena. Giunti al colle abbiamo incontrato due che hanno proseguito sul versante opposto in direzione del canale Hugues.

Description
Prima gita del corso SA1 della Scuola SUCAI di Torino (144 tra allievi e istruttori). Gita piacevole, peccato per il cielo coperto e per la scarsa visibilità nella parte più alta. Farina un po’ pesante nella parte alta, sempre più umida scendendo ma comunque piacevole da sciare. Scarso affollamento, una decina di scialpinisti oltre a noi: ci aspettavamo un’affluenza maggiore.
