Description

The Tour de la Tsa is one of the classic ski mountaineering routes offered by the Valpelline, usually an excellent spring outing thanks to its southern exposure, but also in winter with powdery snow.The final part of the route, with the ascent of the west ridge to reach the summit gives a little extra adrenaline (mountaineering section rated F). But one can safely stop at the col to prepare to enjoy the descent.

Description

Partenza seguendo il sentiero 5 e assenza di neve – poi non continua per poter mettere gli sci, quindi portage per circa 300 mt. Fino alla spalla prima e in vetta dopo, su neve di buona qualità, tutto molto stabile. La discesa di rientro su neve sfondosa e crosta non portante; unica nota positiva per la neve, poderale di rientro innevata fino al fondo.

Prima volta in valpelline, posto molto bello, panorami stupendi. Peccato aver sbagliato le previsioni e non aver scelto la giornata migliore per questa esposizione. Da rifare.

Description

si sale alla cima con ramponi consigliabili ma non indispensabili, dall’alpe Fontaney, siamo scesi a dx con ravanaggio divertente che comunque toglie una stella, sulla poderale appena dopo l’alpe Rebelle, si traversa su una valanga dovendo togliere gli sci.

Reaching the start

From the Aosta East tollbooth, take the tunnel along the E27 road leading into the Great St. Bernard Valley, at the end of which you meet the SS27 coming from the center of Aosta. Just before Gignod, immediately after the last tunnel, proceed to the right following the Valpelline SR28, reaching the village of the same name. Continue for another 15 km along the SR28 passing Oyace and Bionaz; 2 km beyond Bionaz, you will meet the left fork with signs for Alpe Rebelle and paths to the Crete Seche Refuge. You can park in the roadside clearings just before the houses of Chez les Chenaux.

The route

You park the car at the junction for Chez-Chenoux and follow the path marked with trail marker No. 5 (also snowshoe route), which, penetrating into the larch forest, leads to the basin at the Chanlon 1946 m pastures. To get there, it is also possible, with a longer route, to follow a farm track that starts after the last houses of Chez-Chenoux.To the left of the last hut, start climbing in the steep forest of large larches, trying to follow the track of the summer trail that makes numerous serpentines, avoiding the steepest sections. At the end of the forest, you reach the beautiful amphitheater with the alpine pastures of la Tsa 2245 m (or Tsa de Fontaney) on the right on a hump.At this point the rocky crag that precedes the Pian Marmottin appears evident, you generally cross it on the left by a short but steep slope and then traversing under a small paretina, or in the middle in a sort of gully between rocky barriers.You continue along bumps and slopes that are not very steep and open, aiming at the ridge on the left that separates two valleys. When you reach the ridge you either walk along it or climb the right slope, to continue passing under the south walls of the Tour de la Tsa.Going over some gentle depressions, until you reach the base of the steep slope adjoining the Colle de la Tsa 2997 m, which you face with a few diagonal turns.At the col you leave your skis, and possibly with ice axe and crampons you can climb to the top by going along the west ridge, not particularly difficult or exposed. You climb over some easy rocks and short steep snowy slopes to the summit rocks.Descent:Descent can be made by the same route as the ascent (south exposure), or by making a loop towards Chamen, descending from the Vallone della Sassa: descend by alternating more or less sustained slopes to the confluence of the valley that climbs towards the colle di Sassa. Reach the track of the inter-podal road on the orographic left side and follow it (with cuts at will in the hairpin area) to Chamen. From here you will have to return to Chez-Chenoux by following the upper Valpelline road for about 3 km.

Description

Salita alla vetta possibile anche senza ramponi, tuttavia consigliati. Scesi dal versante di salita (esposizione sud) su ottima neve trasformata, mantenuta in buone condizioni dalle frequenti velature. In basso neve più pesante ma comunque sciabile.

Fermati al colle. Sarebbe stato tutto da tracciare per arrivare in vetta. Solo noi e altre tre persone partiti qualche minuto prima che ringrazio per la traccia in salita. Discesa a nord polverone nellintonzo finché non piega a sud. Bell ambiente. Neve top.

Description

Portage ripido fino al termine del bosco poi neve compatta e più gripposa uscendo dalla traccia che in alcuni punti era ghiacciata. Arrivato al colle sono salito in vetta per la cresta ottimamente battuta.Non sono necessari ramponi e picca. La discesa sull’ altro versante è ghiacciata con sassi affioranti per alcuni metri poi diventa veramente goduriosa con ampi spazi intonsi. La parte bassa con neve smollata dal sole è divertente poi stradina con qualche interruzione fino alla strada principale. Ultimo km su asfalto. Nel complesso bella gita

Description

appena fuori dal boschetto (ravanage di livello) sole fotonico ustionante. E’ iniziata la stagione dello zoccolo di neve sotto alle pelli, la sera prima della gita incerare per bene le pelli con prodotto idrorepellente apposito !

Description

Si parte ancora sci alla macchina, ma bisogna considerare qualche metti-leva o qualche ravanata negli arbusti… Questo in entrambi i pezzi di bosco. Usciti dagli alberi la neve è abbondante, abbiamo seguito e ribattuto una marcata traccia già presente anche se un po’ coperta. Ultimo tratto per il Colle parecchio ghiacciato, ma salito comunque senza coltelli, poi tracciato fino in vetta con parecchia neve fresca accumulata. Discesa su neve un po’ crostosa nella parte alta, un po’ fisica, nella parte bassa tra i boschi invece neve durissima.

Description

Fatto giro ad anello. A sud iniza ad esserci poca neve: obbligatorio seguire la poderale dove la neve ancora resiste; il boschetto presenta un paio di interruzioni che non obbligano a togliere gli sci ma non regalano neanche una bella discesa. Da 2100 innevamento continuo fino in vetta, neve crostosa che con il cielo nuvoloso non sembrava voler sciogliersi un po’. Sulle espo in pieno sud e un po’ più ripide inizia ad essere trasformato. Dal colle tracciato fino in vetta su neve inconsistente. Discesa a Nord Est: pesante ma sciabile in alto, crosta lavorata dai numerosi passaggi in centro e marcetta ma ben sciabile in basso.

Description

Gita di gruppo del corso intermedio della Valléé, graziato da condizioni perfette. Nevicata notturna di 20/30 cm, sole, freddo e assenza di vento. Tutta da tracciare, altre due sole persone oltre a noi, discesa nel vallone della Sassa che ha commosso tutti. Manto nevoso da valutare con attenzione, siamo sempre stati distanti 15/20 metri gli uni dagli altri. Ma alla fine tutto senza problemi. Prime roccette coperte di farina assai scivoloso, poi un po’ di imprecazioni per mettere gli sci nella neve fresca e sfondosa sul pendio molto ripido, ma da quel momento…solo poesia

Description

Partiti alle 10, alle 13.30 in vetta. Alla partenza grande sconforto per la situazione neve e nebbia, ma una volta fuori dalle nubi parte l’entusiasmo. Panorama mozzafiato e neve abbondante. Solo l’ambiente meriterebbe 5 stelle. Molto indecisi se scendere a nord o a sud, alla fine optiamo per quest’ultimo dato che nel vallone nord il nebbione iniziava prima. Alla fine ne è uscita una sciata da 4 stelle tra polvere pesante e qualche tratto di crosta in formazione. Dal bosco fino alla poderale è invece pura sopravvivenza. Gran bella gita comunque, lontani dalla folla (una ventina di persone sul percorso)
