Description

Seguito interamente il percorso tracciato per gli scialpinisti fino a quando termina quasi all’arrivo dell ‘ultima seggiovia. Da lì abbiamo raggiunto il bivacco per gli ski alpers e poi proseguito fino in cima su per la dorsale. Con questo percorso il gps segnala 5 km circa. Giornata dal meteo migliore del previsto anche se le temperature sono state decisamente alte, pendii bellissimi e invitanti, ma la neve brutta da cima a fondo;nonostante l’esposizione a sud nella parte alta il vento ha fatto il suo lavoro lasciando accumuli crostosi pressochè insciabili. Le vicine piste battute del comprensorio di Crevacol sono state provvidenziali

Overview

La Tête de Crévacol is beautiful snowy panettone overlooking the ski facilities of the same name.
Discreetly scenic, it remains a fine vantage point on the beautiful Coumba Freida with extremely impressive panoramic views of the imposing Grand Crêton rampart.
The ascent described is up the southern slope from the left side via Merdeux dessous. The route avoids crossing the ski area and after a first part discreetly sloping in the final part follows the soft sinuosities of the depressions and bumps that allow to climb on different routes.
At the summit there is a forest bivouac dedicated to Leopold Deffeyes.
From the pass, panoramic views of the southern valleys, Serena, Citrin and Flassin, and of the whole crown of peaks surrounding the not far away Great St. Bernard Pass are appreciable.

Reaching the start

From the Aosta East tollbooth, take the tunnel leading into the Great St. Bernard Valley and continue along it, passing the villages of Gignod, Etroubles, and Saint-Oyen.
Leave the road that climbs to the Great St. Bernard Pass on the right and continue on the E27 highway until you meet, on the right, the exit for the Crévacol ski resort.
Continue for about 500 m until you reach the station's large parking lot on its westernmost side.

The route

From the parking area, proceed in a northwesterly direction passing under the viaduct of the Great St. Bernard tunnel and, following the tracks, starting to climb the slope up to the Merdeux dessous pastures.
The ascent continues until you reach the rural road, which you follow on the level to the right for a few hundred meters and then ascend on the left beautiful slopes.
Continue without an obligatory path until you reach the wide ridge that descends from the summit to be followed, without an obligatory path to the destination.
The ascent slowly uncovers the surrounding views especially of the Grand Crêton coastline, which is extremely impressive when snowfall is plentiful.
Approaching the summit, the slope drops and on the horizon you can appreciate the view of the Grand Golliat, an imposing three-thousanders not visible from the valley floor.
Rescend the last slopes until you see the stone structure of the forest bivouac located on the summit of the Tête de Crévacol 2605 m.

Descent:
Descent can take place on the uphill tracks without any particular route obligations until the parking lot or by reaching the ski slopes and from there returning to the parking lot via Arp du Jeux.

Description

salito un pò tardi, e forse è stata una scelta azzeccata, discesa parte alta con un bel firm da 5 stelle, poi piste su neve marciotta ma divertente.

oggi al bivacchino della forestale c'era il mondo, sono sceso tutto a sx verso i ruderi del fortino, sicuramente la parte migliore per la discesa, neve ottima.

Description

Meteo spaziale temperatura calda. Saliti a lato delle piste.In 22 oggi Parte alta marciotta ma non sfondosa e sciabile. Parte bassa sulle piste .Scendere prima di mezzogiorno se non si abbassano le temperature. Dovrebbe esserci una traccia dedicata agli ski alper .
