Description
Accumuli da vento nella parte alta ma stabili. Si sciano bene ma la neve è molto compatta ma non ancora rivelata. La parte bassa nel bosco regala ancora una bella discesa in neve polverosa, quasi fino al fondo. Ha fatto discretamente freddo tutto il giorno e la neve non ha mai mollato.

Abbiamo gabbato il meteo che era orribile accanto a noi. Pochissima gente, solo stranieri, su questo itinerario veloce e di gran soddisfazione. La primavera sta spingendo ma l'inverno non molla!

Overview
Northeast exposure makes the slope usable throughout the season and often guarantees optimal snowpack conditions.
The proposed route initially runs along the Vallon de Sereina and then veers to the right at Arp du Bois dessous.
The descent takes place on the same slope with the possibility of varying gradients but without obligatory passages that make it very pleasant.
Some sections of the route present slight difficulties that must be tackled with due experience so it is advisable to tackle it with good technical preparation.
From the summit, the panoramic views of the Crévacol area and the imposing southern slope of Mont Velan are appreciable, on the other side beautiful views of the overlooking Grande Rochère and Aiguille de Bonalex.
Reaching the start
Leave the road that climbs to the Great St. Bernard Pass on the right and continue on the E27 highway until you meet, on the right, the exit for the Crevacol ski resort.
Continue for about 500 m until you reach the station's large parking lot on its westernmost side.
The route
Crossing the Belle Combe stream, you quickly reach the hamlets of Farettes and Ponty, and then, skirting the wooded prominences, you meet the Eteley pasture.
Walk left keeping to the edge of the forest as the slope increases.
Rescend the bare slope, cut several times by the rural road, until you reach the cottages of Arp du Bois dessous 1950 m.
Keep to the right of the cottages and continue for a short, almost flat section and then pick up the slope again, keeping the direction of travel unchanged.
Go over a new tear beyond which you catch your first glimpse of Col Serena.
At an elevation of about 2100 m, veer right and begin to climb a wide gully until you reach the wide shoulder listed at 2480 m.
Turn left to lead into the next wide depression that will have to be climbed left from the summit until reaching the terminal col.
The final stretch, very short and often lashed by the wind, leads to the summit quoted 2739 m.
Descent:
The descent takes place on the ascent tracks without any particular route obligations until the parking lot.
The last section depending on the condition of the snowpack can also be traveled with some passages through the woods.
Finally, the final section presenting no slope, should be pushed until the parking lot.

Bella gita! Verso la fine, ci siamo fatti ingolosire dalla valletta sulla destra che punta al Costone di Mezzodì e abbiamo proseguito di là. Neve sciabilissima, ad oggi ancora vari tratti rimasti intoccati.

Bellissima gita, per effetto gulliver tantissime persone in zona crevacol. La neve si è conservata bene grazie all’esposizione nord. Moltissime tracce su tutti gli itinerari ma i pendii sono ampi. In alto neve farinosa molto tritata ma perfettamente sciabile, parte centrale e bassa fantastica, si trovano ancora diversi punti intonsi per fare belle curve. In basso molto divertente il bosco dove incredibilmente è passata pochissima gente (molti sulla stradina). C’è una ventina di cm di neve con buon fondo, bello. Gita meritevole A mio parere la valutazione corretta è 4.5. Domani dovrebbe essere ancora buona

Altra news, per noi, in questa zona. Giornata spettacolare, rara con poco vento. Molta gente un po’ ovunque,ma i percorsi tracciati, in questa zona vasta erano così tanti che i gruppi si erano praticamente dispersi. Tracce anche in vari canaloni . Noi abbiamo puntato alla vetta quotata 2744 , in vetta sci ai piedi senza problemi. Discesa su neve super non tantissima ma sufficiente, un po’ tritata dai passaggi, però qua e là con spazi per fare qualche curva su neve intonsa. Bella zona!

Si sale subito sci ai piedi seguendo i traccioni presenti. Dalla deviazione a destra quando si lascia la via per il col Serena le tracce diventano molto meno e i pochi centimetri di neve nuova coprono parzialmente la traccia che va ribattuta. Ribatto così fino in cima senza mai problemi anche nelle parti più ripide. Non servono neppure i rampant. La discesa eccezionale, 5 stelle, fino all’incrocio con il col Serena poi tre stelle per le molte tracce. Molto meglio delle aspettative. Presa la finestra di sole prevista, tempo bellissimo. Buon Natale a tutti.

Sarebbe stata da 5* non fosse stato per la visibilità non sempre buona. Però bella neve, circa 15 cm freschi su buon fondo. Presente traccia molto ben fatta fino in cima. Ampi spazi liberi.

Oggi molte persone dirette alla costa nord di Serena. Alla centrale noi due soli in cima, mentre scendevamo però qualcuno ancora saliva.

Partiti per Col Serena, ci siamo fatti tentare dalla meno frequentata Costa di Serena. Salita senza problemi, su neve ben assestata, anche se si prefigurava una discesa mediocre per la prevalenza di croste da vento. Gran vento in punta. Discesa. Seguendo un gruppo numeroso che ci precedeva, siamo scesi sulla direttissima verso il vallone di Serena. La neve sembrava, e infatti era, più morbida e sciabile, ma quanto a sicurezza… abbiamo presto capito che non era stata una buona idea. La neve si presentava “spalmata” dal vento sui pendii e bastava guardarla male perché venisse giù. Solo il sottoscritto ha staccato 3 valanghe di dimensioni medio/piccole. Per fortuna senza alcuna conseguenza. Nel vallone di Serena, neve iper-tritata su tutta la larghezza.
