Description

Lasciata la macchina nel parcheggio a bordo strada poco dopo il pannello che annuncia l’arrivo a La Ferrère, si scende per la poderale fino a trovare il sentiero che entra nel bosco. L’intero tragitto è ottimamente segnalato. Il sentiero si sviluppa in gran parte nel bosco tra tratti pianeggianti e altri in modesta salita. Superato il torrente e usciti dal bosco si incontra il canalone. Anche qui il sentiero è bello anche se ripido. In breve ci si trova davanti il bellissimo bivacco. La vista è un po’ chiusa, trovandosi in un vallone, ma è comunque molto piacevole. La discesa dal canalone l’ho effettuata con molta cautela, in quanto il sentiero è ripido ed è un misto di terra e pietre su cui non mi trovo mai a mio agio, ma dura poco.

Reaching the start

From the Aosta East tollbooth take the tunnel that leads into the Great St. Bernard Valley and continue along it.After about a hundred meters from the exit of the second tunnel, turn right for Valpelline.You will reach the village of Valpelline, which you pass, continue into the valley passing the village of Oyace.Just before reaching the main town of Bionaz, turn left along the road that leads to the Place Moulin dam.You follow it for a couple of km until you find on the right the rural road that goes down to the alpe Ferrère, you leave the car on a widening on the main road just before the entrance to the rural road.

The route

From the car descend along the rural road to its end at Pouillayes where a beautiful rural building is visible.Near the building the path to the bivouac begins. The path continues through the forest with wide turns, then crosses to the right and, with a steeper traverse, enters the Montagnayes valley.Just after that there is a wooden gate that is intended to keep the steers from descending into the valley; be careful to close it again after crossing.You now continue along the Montagnayes valley and then take the path to the left that leads to the bivouac.You pass a col and enter slightly downhill into the Comba des Arbières valley.Acrossing the stream, go up the opposite slope until you reach the remains of the Praz de Dieu alp.Having passed the alpine pasture, cross to the left to climb the steep valley coming from Mont Dzalou.The path becomes steeper and steeper until it comes out on the right at a col, follow the ridge to the left and quickly reach the Chentre - Bionaz bivouac.

Bellissimo Bivacco. C'é sicuramente la volontà di tornarci. L'ultimo tratto di salita piuttosto ripido si fa sicuramente sentire! Stati nei tempi, salita in 2.23 h e discesa in 1.45 h. Giornata splendida e meteo clemente. Grazie a Marco per la compagnia.
