The path was created with funding from the Interreg Italy-Switzerland 2007/2013 project "BTVV - Biosphere Transfrontaliere Val d'Herens - Valpelline".
Lately it has become the path of the high route no.1
The trail follows the steep ridge that climbs in the direction of Col Cornet.
The steepest and most exposed sections have been equipped with steps and handrails, the trail is recommended for people with good hiking skills.

Overview

Reaching the start

From the Aosta East tollbooth, take the tunnel that leads into the Great St. Bernard Valley and continue along it.
After about a hundred meters from the exit of the second tunnel, turn right for Valpelline.
As you pass the village of Valpelline, the road that leads to Ollomont begins on the left.
Follow it until you come to the town hall square near the church.

The route

From the parking lot pass near the town hall and go up along the route of Alta Via No.1.
You cross an asphalt road, and continue until you reach the road again, which at this point has become unpaved.
You continue left along the rural road, reached a small bridge continue to follow the rural road downhill until a hairpin bend, from this point (signpost) the trail begins.
The trail enters the woods and then crosses to the right. You exit the forest and climb a steep ridge with some equipped sections.
You enter again a small wooded valley that you climb with some narrow hairpin bends, then cross to the left and enter a steep, narrow gully that with steep switchbacks and some equipped sections leads above the rocky part near a wooden fence.
From this point there is a nice view of the village of Ollomont.
You still climb a steep section and then reach the upper meadows where the slope definitely softens.
With a nice route you thus reach the abandoned pastures of Berio-Désot.
Without reaching the huts you cross to the left and then climb back into the woods and reach a small valley.
Following the small valley you reach the rural road just before the last hairpin bend and shortly the Berio-Désor alpine pasture.
