Vachéry Tower
Details
Description
This tower was conceived for defensive functions, built on Roman foundations in the 12th century, it belonged to the noble family of Vachery from which it took its name.
As a watchtower and defense tower it had an entrance located at a height of 8 m that was accessed by a wooden staircase that was conveniently removed following passage.
Architectural elements of value, jambs and lintels are still present. When the need for defense ceased to exist, it was used as a dwelling and consequently an access door was created on the ground floor by walling up the original entrance.
