Rhins Fort House
Details
Description
This ancient medieval building sometimes also called the "castle of Rhins" today has a residential function, although it still retains the primitive architectural features of the fortified house
It was once the residence of the Rhins lords, a noble family that is thought to have given its name to the lordship over the estates in the area, even before the Savoy arrived in the Aosta Valley.
The period of construction is thought to be 1100 but there are no documents that attest to its date with certainty.
