Gorzé Larch
Details
Description
This stupendous specimen of larch towers majestically at 2080m. beyond the Place Moiln lake along the path leading to the Aosta hut.Believed to be over 500 years old, it is sympathetically called "La brenva foula," a nickname that means "crazy larch," in fact being able to supply itself with water at depth, being well rooted, it is the first among the specimens around it to turn green in spring and the last to lose its needles in autumn, this peculiarity making it different from the others.
