Château Verdun
Details
Description
This medieval fortress house is located along the road to Flassin, was built between the 10th and 11th centuries and in 1137 was donated by Amadeus III of Savoy to the Canons of the Great St. Bernard Hospice.
Today, after nine centuries in which it has given hospitality to wayfarers along the road to the hill, it is still a very charming place to stay, welcomes pilgrims on the Via Francigena, and hosts groups and scholars who need a period of rest and reflection.
