Overview
Once at the summit, the varied and dynamic descent alternates between smooth sections and slightly more technical passages, ensuring the ride remains thoroughly enjoyable. The return leg leads gently back to the start, completing a well-balanced loop along dirt tracks and unpaved roads, through woodland and open countryside.
Reaching the start
Once you reach the sports area, you can park near the sports ground. The starting point of the route is on a dirt track not far away; it is easy to spot and can be reached directly by bike.
The approach is short and presents no particular difficulties, making the route easy to reach even for families or those coming from outside the valley.
The route
After an initial warm-up section on smooth terrain, the climb takes shape and leads the cyclist along a continuous, steady ascent. The gradients, whilst never extreme but consistently steep, require good pacing and a minimum level of fitness, making the route accessible to cyclists already accustomed to medium-length rides. As you gain altitude, the landscape opens up, offering ever-wider views of the valley and the surrounding mountains, which make the effort of the climb well worth it.
Once you reach the highest point, the route changes in pace and character. The descent is varied and dynamic, alternating between smooth sections and slightly more technical passages – never extreme, but still enough to keep you on your toes. It is a fun descent, inviting you to let the bike run freely without ever losing control, making the most of the good surface and the route’s clarity.
The return to the starting point is gradual, gently guiding the cyclist as the loop comes to a close. This helps to make the overall experience well-balanced, without any sudden final bursts of effort, but with a sense of fulfilment.
The terrain is mainly on dirt tracks and unpaved roads, with sections passing through woodland and others in more open countryside, in a constant alternation of environments that make the route interesting from a scenic point of view. Despite the absence of significant technical difficulties, the ride still requires physical effort, especially in the central section.
The Giro del 105 is therefore ideal for cyclists looking to test themselves on a route of medium difficulty, combining climbs, fun descents and the beauty of the countryside. A well-rounded route, where the effort is always proportionate to the final sense of satisfaction.
